VW Goodwill Package
- Owners of a 2.0L TDI Clean Diesel vehicles that were included in the recent diesel emissions scandal may receive a “Goodwill Package” from Volkswagen
The VW Goodwill package includes a $500 Volkswagen Prepaid Visa Loyalty Card, a $500 Volkswagen Dealership Card, and free 24-hour Roadside Assistance for three years in efforts to make amends for the fibs Volkswagen made in regards to their vehicles emissions. The $500 Volkswagen Dealership Card can be used at ANY dealership in the United States and Puerto Rico to include the purchase of a brand spanking new Volkswagen vehicle. All in all this VW Goodwill Package is a pretty good deal for VW consumers BUT only starts to make up for the emissions scandal. In order to claim this nifty little goodwill package from VW drivers will need to present the Vehicle Identification Number (to prove it was an auto involved in the 2.0L TDI emissions scandal.) along with a driver’s license, proof of ownership such as vehicle registration, title or lease agreement, and vehicle mileage.
Please note…
- Please allow up to 4 weeks for the Visa card and Volkswagen dealership card to arrive once all the information has been submitted
- Drivers will have to visit their local VW dealership in order to provide proof of documents
- The deadline to register for the VWGoodwillpackage.com will be April 30, 2016 (although Volkswagen could make an extension if they feel it is in their best interest)
- Jeannine Ginivan (from VW public relations) stated that by signing up for the Goodwill Program VW owners will not have to sign anything that “that would force VW owners to give up their right to sue the automaker or force them into arbitration“
Some respected attorneys are advising customers who participate in the program that they shouldn’t sign the arbitration clause needed to get the money, saying that the automaker is trying to get around class action lawsuits that have been filed over the alleged diesel emissions scandal.
