For customers who have decided to find out what all the hype is about, activating a Straight Talk device couldn’t be easier. When activating, Straight Talk customer have the option to activate a whole new line, to reactivate an old Straight Talk line, to transfer an existing Straight Talk phone to another account, or to activate Straight Talk with a number from another company. To move a number from another provider to Straight Talk, the customer will need the account number with the other provider, plus the contact information that is registered with that provider.
Offered exclusively through Wal-Mart, Straight Talk is under the umbrella of TracFone. TracFone has 80,000 locations across the United States, and is a part of the largest telecommunications company in Mexico, América Móvil. TracFone was founded in 1996 and has a revenue of almost $10 billion a year.
