Matalan was founded in 1985 and is a favorite with the middle class in the United Kingdom. Each Matalan locations has 4 separate departments to include Women’s, Men’s, Kids’ and Homeware. At one point the firm played with the idea of having a Partyshop department and actually rolled it out in a numbered of locations… the Partyshop idea fell falt on its face and was disbanded due to not making money.
