LA Tax Refund (Last Update April 13, 2016)
The lawsuit revolves around customers who paid telephone utility user taxes between the years 2005 to 2008. According to the LA Tax Refund lawsuit the defendants unlawfully charged local residents and businesses a 10 percent telephone tax. The lawsuit was filed all the way back in 2006 but the settlement is just now being distributed. Class members in the Ardon v. City of Los Angeles case are predicted to receive between $30 to $50 pending the fairness hearing which will take place on 02/25/2016.
Please note…
Where should the claim forms be mailed to? Please mail all relevant court documents to: Ardon v. City of Los Angeles Claims Administrator P.O. Box 30196 College Station, TX 77842-3196. LA Tax Refund Class members can also file a claim online. Class members who elect to stay in the settlement will be represented by the law firms of Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz LLP, Chimicles & Tikellis, LLP, Cuneo Gilbert & Laduca, LLP, and Tostrud Law Group PC. Class members are not required to pay the lawyers as they will take a cut for the 92 million plus settlement pie. A fairness hearing will take place on February 25, 2016, at 11:00 a.m BUT class members DO NOT need to attend in order to receive a sweet little pay out. Maybe this lawsuit will teach the city of Los Angeles some financial responsibility.
