Department Store CPA Settlement
The Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s Credit Card TCPA Lawsuit revolves around claims that improper automated calls were made to customers who owed a debt on a Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s credit card account. Class members contend that the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) was violated when the defendants (i.e. Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s) attempted to collect a debt using automated phone dialing services (according to the law these types of automated phone collection service are illegal unless the consumers says its OK). The definition of a class member in the Department Store CPA settlement is defined as anyone whom Sept. 3, 2009 and July 22, 2015 received an automated call to their cell phone cell phone from Department Stores National Bank and/or FDS Bank for debt collection purposes regarding a Macy’s and/or Bloomingdale’s credit card account.
Please note…
Under the terms of the current Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s Credit Card TCPA Lawsuit settlement structure class members may receive up to $750 (not a bad little payment for someone who was in debt). If class members do not cash their checks the settlement amount could actually go higher than $750 but this is not to be expected.
