Ways To Solve “Insufficient Storage Available” On Android

0

Although you have an SD card that has at least 8 GiB of free space, you are wondering why you keep seeing this error message. The reason is very simple: there are two main divisions of memory on your android device. You are already familiar with the SD card memory but you may not be aware of the built-in memory of your phone or tablet. This is the part of your memory where most apps are installed. It can get filled up rather fast. When this happens, you will see that error message. Here are some simple things you can do to solve this problem.

Clear the Apps Cache

The first thing you need to do is to go to the Settings, choose Apps then go to the Downloaded section. You will see a Menu button at the upper right section. Choose ‘sort by size’. Tap on any of the apps and you will see the data and the cache. You can clear out the cache to free up space. However, your app may load a little slower the next time to try to use it. In addition, you may save yourself time by downloading and using the App Cache Cleaner. This app will help you free up more space at once.

Move Apps to Your Micro SD Card

Second, you should push some of the apps installed in the internal memory unto your SD card. Open Settings > Apps and then
sort by size. Tap on the big apps and look out for a button labeled ‘Move to SD card’. If this button is raised, you can move the app to your SD card immediately. But if it is grayed out, you will need to leave the app where it is. The only major reason why you should not move apps to your SD card is if you want to use the app while your phone is plugged into your car or your computer for data transfer, charging or to play your multimedia files.

Uninstall Some Apps

Next, you can uninstall any apps that you don’t use often. If you need them at a later date, you can easily download them again when you have a good data connection. Some of the apps you can conveniently remove include those shopping apps which you hardly ever remember to use at the store, the games you rarely play, individual credit card apps, and restaurant ordering apps.

Those are some of the ways to solve the “insufficient storage available” error. With these simple tips, you can free up space in the internal memory of your device and install any new apps or upgrade important apps anytime you need to do so.

How To Do A Soft Reset On iPhone 5 Or Galaxy s5

0

Is your phone crashing? Freezing? Continuously resetting or rebooting? Don’t panic! Performing a soft reset on your iPhone 5 or Galaxy S5 can help resolve a plethora of issues with your device so you can get back to using it the way you’re supposed to

If your phone won’t ring or vibrate, your keyboard doesn’t respond, or you are unable to make or receive calls, here’s a how-to guide with everything you need to know. Read on to find out how to do a soft reset on Galaxy S5 or the iPhone 5.

HOW TO DO A SOFT RESET ON A GALAXY S5

If you have a Galaxy S5 and the phone is having trouble operating, you might need to do a soft reset. This basically involves turning the device off and then on again – similar to how you would restart your desktop computer if your system started to run slow. Remember – a soft reset won’t get rid of any data (photos, files, music) that you keep on your device.

  1. First, you will need to turn your Samsung Galaxy S5 over, with the battery cover facing you. Locate the battery compartment release, which is located on the back of your phone.
  2. You will need to remove the battery from your phone. To do this, lift the battery cover from the release slot. Be careful when doing this, and make sure your hands are clean. Your battery should be easy to remove, but don’t force it.
  3. Once you have removed the battery, wait for around 10 seconds and re-insert the battery into the battery compartment.  The gold contacts should be aligned with the battery contacts in the phone. Make sure the battery is correctly aligned before pressing it down flat to lock it into place.
  4. Place the batter cover back, and press the Power button to turn on your Galaxy S5. Wait a few seconds for the phone to start up.
  5. Once your phone has started up, check to see if your apps and other features are working correctly.

HOW TO DO A SOFT RESET ON AN iPHONE 5

Performing a soft reset on an iPhone 5 is a bit different than the Galaxy S5 but is still easy to do and will only take a few seconds of your time. You will want to perform this operation if your iPhone freezes, begins to perform slowly, or you are unable to use particular features such as the keyboard. Many people worry about doing a soft reset as they think that by doing so they will lose their data. However, this is not the case.

  1. First, you will need to press down and hold the Power button until you see ‘Slide to power off’ appear on the screen. Once this message appears, release the Power button.
  2. Next, you will need to slide this Power switch to the right to turn the phone off, and wait for a few seconds until the device shuts down.
  3. Once your Apple iPhone has been switched off, you will need to hold and press down the Power button once again. This time, wait until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Once you see the logo, release the Power button and wait for a few seconds.
  4. Your phone should start up again. Slide through your home screens and see if your apps are working as they should be. Your phone should be performing more effectively than before the soft reset.
  5. If your iPhone doesn’t respond, or has trouble restarting after you have switched off the device, you will need to press down and hold BOTH the Power and the Home buttons until you see the Apple logo. Keep on holding these two buttons for ten seconds and then release.
  6. Your phone should start up again. Slide through your home screens and see if your apps are working as they should be.
  7. If your phone gets stuck during start up, it might signify a bigger problem. For example, you might see a blue or red screen when starting up the phone, or your iPhone might be stuck on the Apple logo screen for a long time. If this is the case, you might need to put your device in recovery mode, and re-install iOS onto your device. You will be able to do this without deleting any data from your device.

Why The Apple Watch Will Bankrupt Apple

0

Many believe the Apple Watch is the beginning of the end for Apple Inc.

The one indisputable fact that can be said about the Apple watch is this: it is a watch. Well, it is mostly a watch. It does have a watch function. There’s a little face of a standard clock icon in the middle of one of the screens. All around that are little icons for everything else you can imagine: email, music, text, telephone, calendar, camera, etc..

The emphasis should be on “little”,however. Those of us with fat fingers will spend more time closing apps we didn’t mean to open than we will actually using those we did. Some of the icons are not recognizable, so we’re talking a learning curve to familiarize ourselves with all those little things we need to be flicking.

You don’t have to flick the icons, of course. You can click the large button on the side if you prefer. Or double-click it to get back to a previous screen. Which is a whole lot of clicking and flicking just to find out what time it is.

And guess what? Every single person in the United States (unless they live under a rock) already have these functions on a much easier to use wide-screen in the form of a smart phone!
