The Tuna Lawsuit revolves around claims that the StarKist Company was not filling their tuna cans with the amount of meat state din the packaging.  Class members contend that StarKist violated state and federal laws by under-filling some of its 5-ounce canned tuna products.  StarKist has denied any wrong doing in the case but has agreed to settle in order to avoid a long drawn out court case (that would most likely cost the firm millions and millions of bucks).

Tuna Lawsuit Potential Award – Who Can File A Claim – Misc Notes

  • Class members who file timely claims may receive a cash money payment OR a $25 or $50 voucher for StarKist products
  • The amount of cash each class members will receive will depend on how many claims are filed
  • Anyone who between the dates of Feb. 19, 2009 and Oct. 31, 2014 purchased 5 oz. Chunk Light in Water, Chunk Light in Oil, Solid White in Water or Solid White in Oil are encouraged to file a claim
  • In a weird twist of fate the StarKist 5 oz. Chunk White in Water product is NOT included in the case
  • Class members claim that in many cases StarKist only provided 2.81 to 3.11 ounces of tuna when federal regulation called for 2.84 to 3.23 ounces
