ATT M Settlement

  • Obtain more information in regards to the class action lawsuit entitled In Re: AT&T Mobility Wireless Data Services Sales Tax Litigation which is pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois

The ATT M settlement revolves around the way AT&T charged certain mobile customers in the form of taxes, fees and surcharges on internet access through certain services.  AT&T denied all allegations of wrong doing but has agreed to settle to avoid a no hold bars death match in court.  Class members in the case that AT&T violated Internet Tax Freedom Act, 47 U.S.C. § 151 and a variety of other state laws.  Unlike most class action lawsuit class members in the ATT M Settlement will not have to file a claim in order to received benefits.  Any questions however about the case can be directed to:

Please note…

  • Vendor’s compensation is the amount of money AT&T Mobility was allowed to retain from the sales tax it collected as compensation for collecting the taxes for some (but not all) taxing jurisdictions

  • AT&T Mobility will stop collecting the taxes it has been collecting and paying to states, counties and cities. AT&T Mobility will not collect the tax again unless the applicable laws of the United States or a state change or such laws are interpreted to require or permit AT&T Mobility to begin collecting the taxes again

The AAA renewal program will automatically charge the customers credit card (i.e. Chase, AMEX), debit card, or checking account each year for their annual membership dues.  The system is a set it and forget it program that takes the hassle out of manual renewing a AAA membership.

  • AAA Renew membership can be set up online or by calling the toll free number on the back of the AAA card
  • Customers using a credit or debit card will be charged 10 to 15 days prior to their renewal date

OPlates Renewal 

  • Renew, replace, exchange or register Ohio license plates online

The service is free to all Ohio state residents (residents are not required to be a Buckeyes fan contrary to popular belief) and OPlates Renewal service is operated by the Ohio Department of Public Safety.  Anyone moving to the state of Ohio has 30 days to register their auto and are NOT allowed to operate a vehicle in the state of Ohio with a license from another state after the 30 days are up or they will face a minor misdemeanor under R.C. 4503.111.

Please note… 

  • First time registering an auto?  Please have the original Certificate of Title or Memorandum Certificate of Title
  • If the vehicle is leased, registrants must present the lease agreement and power of attorney when registering
  • Most autos will be subject to EPA Testing
  • To find out more in regards to EPA testing in the state of Ohio please dial 1-800-CAR-TEST
  • Tax issues associated with an auto in the state of Ohio can be directed to 1-800-589-8247 or 1-614-752-7800
  • Ohio residents who renew via US mail should allow up to 4 weeks for the application to process
  • Residents who have moved and need to inform the Ohio Department of Public Safety in regards to an address change should mail in Address Change Form, BMV 5756 OR can make a change in human flesh by visiting any Deputy Registrar Office
  • Anyone requesting a Duplicate Certificate of Title will be charged $15
  • Anyone requesting a Duplicate/Replacement Sticker will be charged $4.50

OPlates renewal services accept most major credit cards and payment methods to include: Cash, Personal Checks, Money Orders, Certified Cashier Checks, Traveler’s Checks, County Agency Vouchers, Intra-State Agency Vouchers (PayPal and Apple Pay are not allowed at this time).  The most reliable and prefered way to make a payment to the Ohio Department of Public Safety is via cash money.  The state of Ohio will charge extra for personalized plates.
