Pier 1 Settlement

• Learn more about the Pier 1 Imports Song-Beverly Cases class action lawsuit revolving around claims that Pier 1 LOCATIONS in the state of California broke US laws when asking for customers personal information (i.e. ZIP code, address, telephone number and/or email address) at the time of check out

Pier 1 has denied any actions of wrong doing but has agreed to a settlement that may allow class members to claim a $10 Pier 1 merchandise voucher.  The lawsuit is Case no. • All claim forms associated with the Pier 1 Settlement are due by December 3, 2015
• The settlement fairness hearing is scheduled for 1/13/16
• The deadline to object to the settlement proposed by the courts and Pier 1 is listed as December 3, 2015

• Class members in the case are defined as anyone who made a purchase at a Pier 1 Import in the state of California via credit card from March 2, 2010 until May 1, 2011

Pier 1 Settlement class members who elect to stay a part of the lawsuit will automatically be represented by the law firms of PATTERSON LAW GROUP APC – STONEBARGER LAW APC – WUCETICH & KOROVILAS LLP.  Class members will not be responsible for paying these up town city lawyers as they will receive a cut of the settlement from Pier 1.  Class members in the Pier 1 Settlement case are citing the Song-Beverly Credit Card Act of 1971 for their reasoning in bringing the lawsuit before the courts.

CS Pension Rescue

• Obtain up to date information about Central States Pension Fund’s submitted under the Multiemployer Reform Act of 2014 (MPRA)

Popular components (talking points) of the plan include: Terminated Status Participants, UPS Transfer Group, Future Accruals for Active Participants, and Disability Protections.  Under US Law the U.S. Department of the Treasury has 225 to review this well though up pan and either approve or deny.  The CS Pension Rescue Plan was developed to save the state of Illinois from bankruptcy and to help return capitalism to the state (as right now it seems to be ruled by socialist policies).

Overall the Citi Apply Now Thank You Card Invitation is a pretty decent offer and most consumers seeking a credit card can’t go wrong with adding it to their payment arsenal.  The one thing to note is the Thank You Preferred card is much more valuable to the consumer who likes to spend a lot of nights out on the town at restaurants and events versus the consumer who spends their evenings shopping online or at the grocery store.

All Natural Settlement

• Obtain more information about the class action lawsuit settlement that revolves around the words “all natural,” “100% natural,” or “nothing artificial”

Kashi has agreed to pay close to $4 million as a result of the All natural settlement.  Class members contend that Kashi mislead consumers as the Kashi products actually contained contained genetically modified organisms when they were labeled “all natural,” “100% natural,” or “nothing artificial”.  Anyone who purchased certain Kashi products (containing these GMO’s) from May 3, 2008 until Sept. 4, 2015 may receive a slice of the settlement pie.

• Residents in the state of California are not allowed to file a claim
• this link will show a list of all eligible Kashi products included in the ALL NATURAL SETTLEMENT
• The amount of the settlement will differ per class member but the most any one household can receive is $27.50
