The card does not need to be activated and the gift card is not a credit card.  When the consumer receives the gift card make to record the amount of funds originally loaded onto the CU GIFT card and deduct the amount of each purchase.

Any questions about the CU GIFT CARD can be directed to 866.833.2370.  Customers should treat the card as cash and once the card has been depleted the card should be tossed in the trash can. If the card holder allows someone else to use the CU GIFT CARD whatever they do with the Gift Card will be considered authorized by the card holder.

www.LATaxRefund.com – Los Angeles Telephone Tax Lawsuit Settlement

  • Obtain more information about the class action lawsuit entitled Ardon v. City of Los Angeles which is in the ball park of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and is case number BC363959
  • The claim filing period is over

The lawsuit revolves around customers who paid telephone utility user taxes between the years 2005 to 2008.  According to the LA Tax Refund lawsuit the defendants unlawfully charged local residents and businesses a 10 percent telephone tax.  The lawsuit was filed all the way back in 2006 but the settlement is just now being distributed.  Class members in the Ardon v. City of Los Angeles case are predicted to receive between $30 to $50 pending the fairness hearing which will take place on 02/25/2016.

Please note…

  • A $92.5 million settlement has been proposed
  • Class members will receive $30 – $50 depending on kind of telephone service the class member utilized during the used Class Period
  • All claims forms in the LA Tax Refund case are due by 02/20/2016

Box 30196 College Station, TX 77842-3196.  LA Tax Refund Class members can also file a claim online.  Class members who elect to stay in the settlement will be represented by the law firms of Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz LLP, Chimicles & Tikellis, LLP, Cuneo Gilbert & Laduca, LLP, and Tostrud Law Group PC.  Class members are not required to pay the lawyers as they will take a cut for the 92 million plus settlement pie.  A fairness hearing will take place on February 25, 2016, at 11:00 a.m BUT class members DO NOT need to attend in order to receive a sweet little pay out.  Maybe this lawsuit will teach the city of Los Angeles some financial responsibility.
