DIPF Direct Settlement

  • If you purchased a Ductile Iron Pipe Fittings from the McWane company from 2008 to 2011, you could have some free money coming your way thanks to a class action settlement
  • A claim in the McWane pipe fitting class action suit must be received by January 29, 2016
  • A final claim hearing in the McWane class action suit will be held in the beginning of February, 2016

A class action lawsuit alleges that McWane, a manufacturer of Ductile Iron Pipe Fittings (DIPF), attempted to monopolize the market for these pipe fittings, letting them drive up the price since there’s no competition. McWane denies these allegations, and claims they’ve done nothing wrong, but they have agreed to settle this case out of court.

Who’s eligible to join this class action suit? Anyone who purchased a DIPF from McWane from January 11, 2008 through June 30, 2011. If you purchased a pipe fitting from McWane between those dates, make sure you have your claim in by January 29 of 2016 – that’s the final deadline to send in claims. The final fairness hearing for the class action lawsuit against McWane will happen at the beginning of February, 2016. If approved, settlement checks will be sent out in the weeks after the hearing.

It’s not clear right now how much each eligible claim will receive in this lawsuit against McWane pipe fittings, but there is a pool of over $8,000,000 in the settlement fund! This will be distributed  between each valid claim that is received, plus the legal representation in this case, so you need to make sure you have your claim in!

You don’t need to pay anything to join this class action suit against McWane, so make sure you have your claim in if you’re eligible!

Nevada Property 1 Settlement

  • File a claim form online in regards to the class action lawsuit against the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas related to recorded telephone calls received from or placed to individuals in California

The class action lawsuit is entitled Sasan Mirkarimi v. Nevada Property 1 LLC dba The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and is case number 3:12-cv-2060 BTM.  All claim forms MUST be in no later than 11/23/15 and the settlement fairness hearing will take place on 1/4/16.  Class Members in the Nevada Property 1 Settlement are encouraged to submit legal documentation to show telephone bills or other forms of proof of purchase along with their claim form (class members will be required to sign the form under the penalty of perjury).

Please note…

  • Mikarimi v Nevada Property 1 LLC DBA is pending in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California
  • The class members will have to provide their phone number in which the calls took place
  • Class members content that The Cosmo of Las Vegas recorded calls containing personal financial information, credit card numbers and billing addresses without obtaining the customers permission

The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California has approved a $14.5 million settlement which is pending the fairness hearing (class members are not required to attend the bothersome hearing in order to collect a settlement.
