It’s pretty easy to delete a message off of LinkedIn, for a start the delete button is seriously close to the reply button, which is seriously inconvenient when you just want to quickly press reply without worrying about deleting an important message.
About an hour ago, I did just that. I deleted a message that was pretty useful and panicked. Could I recover it?
Most people use LinkedIn for work, so chances are, most of the messages they receive over the network are pretty important; it’s not like losing a Facebook or WhatsApp message. So if you mistakenly delete one, like I did, you will probably want to retrieve it to- like I did.
Believe it or not it’s incredibly easy, so don’t panic. The first thing you need to do is to click on the Messages icon which is located in the top left corner of the screen. This will take you into your Inbox.
If you’re using a desktop, your messages will be located in the middle of the screen with the options menu on the left side of the screen.
Select the Trash option on the left hand side. This will give you and overview of all your previously deleted messages.
To restore a deleted message, click the spiral arrow key which is facing in an anti-clockwise direction. As soon as you click on the spiralled arrow the deleted message will be restored to your inbox for you to do with as you will.
If, on the other hand, you wish to permanently delete a message from your inbox and trash then visit the Trash and instead of selecting the spiralled arrow option select the trash can option and voila- your message will be permanently deleted.
On the left hand menu you can also access your sent messages, archived messages and invitations too.
