The iPhone is known for its top notch camera, which can be used to record still photos and videos. Customer who uses the iOS camera for shooting photos can also use the Photos app to edit the footage that they capture.
Editing a Still Photo
iOS 8 ships with a new and improved Photos app that includes some handy editing functions for your still photos.
Open the Photos app on your iPhone or iPad.
Tap to select the photo you want to edit.
Tap the “Edit” button to open the editor interface.
Use the available tool to edit your photo — select the wand in the upper corner to use an auto-enhance feature to improve overall image quality; use the crop tool to adjust the rotation of the picture and set the crop using guidelines; use the photo filters to apply a filter preset or use the adjustment tool to change the light, color, or B&W properties of the image.
Tap “Done” when are finished editing to save the photo to your Camera Roll
Editing a Video
Though not a full-fledged video editor, the Photos app will allow you to trim a video and then save the shortened clip to your camera roll. This editing feature is useful when you want remove some extra footage you captured but don’t want to keep or if you need to shorten a video so you can share it.
1. Open the Photos app on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Tap to select the video you want to edit.
3. Drag the left and right anchor points in the video filmstrip to mark the start and finish points of the shortened video clip. When marked, the video markers will be yellow.
4. Tap the “Trim” button to shorten the video to your selection.
5. Select either “Trim Original” or “Save As New Clip” depending on whether you want to edit the original or want to keep the source clip in its original state.
